The Cake Team Manager is a professional member of the Bernice’s management team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead, motivate, and inspire all members of our cake team to produce high-quality baked goods while also fostering a sense of community and harmony among all employees each and every day.

Your skill in baking high-quality desserts should be matched by your ability to schedule, provide growth goals, and hold accountable your staff of 17 people (along with the assistance of our decorating supervisor, who oversees six (6) of those people.)

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts and passionate about sweet and delicious creations. They must possess exemplary oral and written skills, including customer service and service recovery, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Suite. They must adhere to all health and safety standards and be able to teach those standards to new and existing staff.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a baker or in a relevant management role
• Excellent observation skills and attention to detail
• Excellent leadership
• Willingness to replenish professional knowledge through continuing education
• In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and baking techniques
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions with special attention to nut and wheat allergies

Other responsibilities include:

• Oversight of all cake, cookie, treat and pie production
• Identify staffing needs, recruit, hire and train personnel (treat, cake bakers, dishwashers and decorators)
• Write weekly staff schedule
• Conduct personnel reviews, including discipline and/or termination, when necessary
• Lead all cake team meetings
• Full participation in all management and lead team meetings
• Provide Customer service support
• Maintain inventory stock levels throughout the day
• Ordering and receiving from multiple vendors

Other qualifications:

Minimum two years of baking experience Minimum two years of management experience Minimum two years of computer experience

Primary Duties include cutting and baking sugar cookies, dish washing,  weighing ingredients for recipes, prepping glazes and fills, general cleaning and sanitation, other bakery duties as assigned

Secondary Duties include assisting the cake bakers, front of house staff, and lunch chef.

This has the potential to be a full-time position for the right individual.

The early morning delivery position is responsible for delivering baked goods to our wholesale clients as well as custom orders to  Missoula residents.  The position requires attention to detail to ensure delivered product meets Bernice’s quality standards and specifications. Drivers must possess an excellent driving record, flexibility, high standard of cleanliness, safety, professional communication skills and customer service.

Schedule:

• 3 days a week, Sunday-Tuesday

• 4:45am-Noon-ish
